Marceline The Vampire Queen Profile

Background

Marceline is over a thousand years old.In "Memory of a Memory," one of Marceline's memories shows her as a young girl playing near the burning ruins of a city, presumably the aftermath of the Mushroom War.

When Marceline was a teenager, her father ate her fries in the ruins of a diner, as Finn witnessed in her memory. This incident would damage Marceline's relationship with her father, which she would later sing about in her "Fry Song." At a later point in her history, she moved into the Tree Fort (that would later become Finn and Jake's home) with her boyfriend Ash. She would later dump him for selling her prized possession Hambo, a teddy bear that which she carried close to her throughout the years of her life, and for being an all-around jerk. Marceline has also mentioned her mother, but no in depth information has been given about her or their relationship yet.

Pendleton Ward also stated that while Marceline is the Vampire Queen, there is no Vampire King because she killed him.

It's unknown exactly when or how Marceline became a vampire, although she did not have a bite mark on her neck when she was younger.

Personality

Marceline is described as a wild rocker girl. Centuries of wandering the Land of Ooo have made

her a fearless daredevil. She is a lover of all things exotic and still travels the land often. Unlike traditional vampires, Marceline is able to sustain herself solely on "shades of red," rather than blood. This means she can suck the color out of anything red and cMarceline's teddy bearHamboause it to lose its hue. She has a mischievous personality and is not intimidated by anything. Despite seeming evil at first, Marceline is a trickster at heart, and her "evil plans" often turn out to be nothing more than elaborate jokes. She is described by Finn as "a radical dame who likes to play games". She seems to have a strained relationship with her father and might sometimes have violent outbursts, as shown in "It Came from the Nightosphere."

She was very emotionally attached to her teddy bear Hambo; after Ash sold it to a witch, she was furious and broke up with him.

Marceline seems to be a little emotional, for example in "What Was Missing," she seemed to be more "aggressive" towards Princess Bubblegum than she usually is. In "It Came from the Nightosphere," she swung her axe-bass at Finn for annoying her a bit, then immediately says "...that was emotionally exhausting..." She is also very independent, and in early episodes would often act without concern for Finn or his friends. She is known to pick her nose as seen on "Memory of a Memory" and "Marceline's Closet." It is easier for Marceline to express her feelings through music, as seen with "The Fry Song" and "I'm Just Your Problem."

Abilities

- Strengths

Marceline's abilities have been shown to go beyond that of a traditional vampire, as she has been shown to possess the powers of levitation, pyrokinesis, telekinesis, invisibility, and necromancy, near instantaneous self-healing, the spooky vampire walk, as well as the ability to shape shift into numerous monstrous forms, including a bat, a wolf, a reptilian creature, or a tentacled monster. Her shape-shifting powers might be an ability inherited from her father, as he demonstrated he could transform into demonic creatures as well. Also unlike traditional vampires, Marceline is capable of sustaining herself on "shades of red," such as the color in strawberries, and is not limited to surviving on blood. Marceline additionally seems to have control of how her long hair moves (However, in almost every episode she has been in, she has brushed a lock of it out of her face, though this could simply be a habit).

According to the note she left on her door in "Marceline's Closet" she gets lucid dreams when she's eaten tomatoes.

As the Lady of Evil, she gains the ability to shoot green lasers which either vaporize or transform whatever they hit. She can also create or transform into a large cloud of bloodmist with the ability to shoot green lasers as well. In addition to these things, she also gains the ability to devour souls.

- Weaknesses

Marceline is vulnerable to sunlight, as is common in vampire lore. The nuance to this in the Adventure Time world is that vampires are specifically vulnerable to direct sunlight. Marceline is capable of unrestricted movement on a bright sunny day provided that she shields herself, which she usually accomplishes with a combination of a parasol and a large sunhat, sometimes with the addition of full-length gloves to cover her arms. According to Marceline moving around on a bright day still hurts mildly, comparable to scraping her knee, but she can bear it. Exposure to direct sunlight will cause Marceline to painfully melt into a pile of goo, though if she retreats into cover she can heal back to normal within moments. It is not clear if prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will eventually kill Marceline outright.

Also like typical vampires, Marceline can't see her own reflection in a mirror, however she does show up on film as seen in "Return to the Nightosphere". It also isn't known if she will suffer any adverse effects if she isn't able to feed on "shades of red" for prolonged periods of time, either starving to death or surviving but being greatly weakened. In "Heat Signature," Marceline explains to Finn and Jake that vampires can't defeat ghosts: "It's like a rock-paper-scissors thing." It is unknown if Marceline is negatively affected by garlic because her only known exposure to it happened when Jake pelted her in the head with large cloves of it, so the pain she experienced may have come from the impact and not the exposure. It is also unknown if Marceline can be slayed with a wooden stake since Marceline hid when Jake attempted to do so.

A Guide to Vampirism

This may or not be disturbing. I am not sure what your level of decency is.

Rule 1: Human blood is delicious, and your only source of it should be a live human. I am a human myself, and I would not let you bite me. But blood is to be taken with charisma or force, either work beautifully.

Rule 2: If you go out in the sun you will burst into flames. Do not do this unless you wish to end it all. Also as a sidenote any other lightsource is OK though artificial sunlight used to grow plants may cause some ill-effects.

Rule 3: If anyone compares you to what modern media calls 'vampires' tear off their arms, bludgeon them with said arm and feast upon their sweet blood if they are human because as stated before blood tastes good.

Rule 4: Don't eat their flesh. You drink blood, not eat flesh. You would be no better than the common ranks of the dead if you were to do so.

Rule 5: do not eat children for two reasons One: they are kids and let out a loud noise when bit Two:they have less blood then an adult let them grow up then drink there blood tis an effort but if you are starving little kids are OK to feed from.

Rule 6: Drink the blood of anyone who has no personality it gives them a sense of meaning doesn't it?

Rule 7: bite me is used as a request towards vampires not the insult of course.

Rule 8: don't just leave the bodies of your victims around a vampire hunter such as van hellsing will find it easier to track you.

Rule nine: the artery in the neck is always nice but the artery in the wrist is less of a dead give away.

Rule 10: Don't be so sad about being immortal eternally youthful and powerful..if you are then just commit the action stated in rule two.

Coraline Cover Photo

Well I was kinda bored today so i made Coraline our Cover photo for DLS (Dark Little Secrets') Page. And i think I did a pretty good job about it HAHA

How to make a Horror Film

  1. 1
Get a scary idea for the movie. But make it good so they wont suspect it coming. And when it comes, make it as scary as it can be. It could be more frightening if you HEAR noises, rather than SEE the ghost or monster etc.
  2. 2
Turn your idea into a plot, or story. A great way to get an idea is to brainstorm ideas, then choose one and write the story. Always have a story before filming, or else it might turn out cheesy.
  3. 3
Find a place to film the movie. Good ideas are in the woods (especially at night), cabins, wooden buildings, abandoned houses, etc. Make sure that you have permission to film at the location before you start.
  4. 4
Find a cast who's willing to star in your thriller. They don't necessarily need acting experience, but that depends on the complexity of your movie. Make sure they are willing and able to take orders from the director.
  5. 5
Add scary and scratchy, eerily atmospheric music for suspense. Add scary, screechy music for when something surprising happens.
  6. 6
Have a scary killer/monster/whatever. For some reason killers that don't talk are scarier than ones who do. Make sure their motive is simple (revenge/insanity is good)
  7. 7
Make something completely ordinary the center of the drama (paper bag, telephone, toilet, doorbell, TV, videotape). If you do it well, it will be scary!
  8. 8
Have a plot twist (at the end or middle end).
  9. 9
Add good effects (if the blood looks like ketchup you're not going to scare anyone so use hot sauce or tomato soup instead. It looks more realistic) If you choose to go with effects...that is. Its proven that a sudden moment of suspense without graphic bloody violence is more scary because the watcher's imagination finds the scariest possible outcome that they personally can imagine... much scarier than even a realistic gore fest... think De Niro's Hide and Seek... Scary because of the suspense, not because of the blood, or the realism of said blood.
  10. 10
Make sure you use good effects. if you want to make magic balls, fire, explosion etc. use effects lab pro! An alternative, which is more expensive, but can give much more professional results is called Adobe After Effects (it has motion tracking, color correction etc., see a site called VIDEO COPILOT).
    • If its murder in your film, make it realistic by cutting out newspaper articles and terms.(Example:Cut out photos and articles of Missing people, deceased people, etc. And Use your Psycho as the plot of those Situations.)[p.s.Don't Use Real Names of suspects and or Deceased]
  11. 11
After all of the filming is complete, start moving it to the computer. Editing it is often fun, but frustrating, seeing as it could be erased with one click.
  12. 12
About half way into editing, set a release date. Put up posters around school or the neighborhood. Try not to invite general public though, just people you know.

Things You'll Need

  • Script or permanent plot sequence
  • Characters that perfectly fit your actors
  • Organization
  • Camera (3ccd is a benchmark for broadcast quality)
  • Tripod
  • Microphone - preferably a "rifle" mic
  • Lighting
  • Charged batteries and blank tapes!!!
  • Fake blood, costumes, wigs, masks, and whatever else is necessary (stock up on the costumes, makeup, and blood at the Halloween section at Wal-Mart!!!!!!!)
  • An empty house or two. Free of people not involved in the Filming is better.
  • Good video editing software, specifically for NLE or Non-Linear Editing (like Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas, AVID media composer)
  • Creepy soundtrack/soundscore
  • willing friends
  • A very scary or eerie set, to set the motive for the movie to be chilling.
  • And have a movie premier to show to all of your friends, it's loads of fun!!!
  • (If you want to get yourself noticed, try placing a video on "www.youtube.com". You'll recive reviews, comments, rates, and easy fans. Just Sayin')

Come Little Children

May 9, 2012 I stumbled upon this song entitled, Come Little Children. I did a little research about this song and I found out that this is originally a poem. And there are claims that Edgar Allan Poe wrote this but I am not quite sure about this. I mean I had a book compilation of all his stories and I've never encountered this one before.

Anyway so for everyone's information this is the poem:

Come little children I'll take thee away
into a land of Enchantment

Come little children the time's come to play
here in my garden of Shadows

Follow sweet children I'll show thee the way
through all the pain and the Sorrows

Weep not poor children for life is this way
murdering beauty and Passions

Hush now dear children it must be this way
to weary of life and Deceptions

Rest now my children for soon we'll away
into the calm and the Quiet

Come little children I'll take thee away
into a land of Enchantment

Come little children the time's come to play
here in my garden of Shadows

This became Sarah's theme for Hocus Pocus.
And here's the video too, you might want to listen to this one :D
